Terms of Service
Effective date: [to be confirmed]
Draft. This policy is being finalised and is not yet the binding version. Questions: hello@book80.com.
In short: you own your manuscripts and the books you make, and may sell them on any plan. Review AI output before publishing and follow each store’s rules. Plans renew until you cancel; purchased credits never expire. We don’t sell your content or train our models on it.
1. Who we are and this agreement
BookFlow AI (“we”, “us”) is operated by [to be confirmed], [to be confirmed]. These Terms govern your use of the website at book80.com, the web application, and the related APIs (together, the “Service”).
By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service for an organisation, you confirm you may bind that organisation, and “you” includes it.
2. The Service
BookFlow AI helps you plan, write, edit, format and prepare books and related products for publication, including AI-assisted drafting, quality checks, exports (such as EPUB, DOCX and PDF), and optional audio, cover and publishing tools.
Some features run in your browser and keep data on your device; others run on our servers or on third-party providers. Features, limits and integrations may change. Features labelled beta, preview or demo are provided for evaluation and may be incomplete.
3. Accounts and security
- You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account.
- Give accurate information and keep your sign-in credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Organisation owners and admins control who joins their workspace and what each member can do.
- Tell us promptly at hello@book80.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
4. Your content and ownership
You keep all rights in the manuscripts, notes, sources and other material you upload (“Your Content”) and in the output the Service generates for you (“Output”), to the extent the law allows rights to exist in it. Commercial use of Output is permitted on every plan, including Free.
You give us a limited licence to host, process, transmit and display Your Content and Output only as needed to provide, secure and support the Service for you. We do not use Your Content to train our own AI models, and we do not sell it.
You are responsible for having the rights to everything you upload, including quoted text, images, translations and voices.
5. AI-generated output
AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, similar to other people’s output, or unsuitable for your purpose. The Service includes checks, but they do not guarantee accuracy, originality or that a book will be accepted by any retailer or platform.
- Review and edit Output before you publish it. You are the author and publisher of what you release.
- Follow the AI-disclosure rules of each platform you publish on (for example Amazon KDP).
- Do not rely on Output as professional legal, medical, financial or other advice without qualified review.
6. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service to:
- infringe copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights, or publish content you are not entitled to publish;
- create content that is unlawful, defamatory, sexually exploits minors, or incites violence or hatred;
- clone or imitate a real person’s voice or identity without their documented consent;
- mass-produce deceptive, spam or low-value books intended to mislead buyers or game retailer rankings;
- post fake reviews or manipulate ratings;
- probe, overload or bypass the security, rate limits or usage limits of the Service, or access other customers’ data;
- resell or provide the Service to third parties except as your plan allows.
We may remove content or suspend access that breaks these rules, and will tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it.
7. Plans, payment and credits
- Paid plans renew automatically each month or year until cancelled. Prices and plan limits are shown before you pay.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details.
- Prices exclude taxes unless stated; applicable taxes are added at checkout.
- Plan allowances (such as books per month) reset each billing period and do not carry over. Purchased credit packs do not expire.
- If a generation job fails to start or fails in a way the Service classifies as refundable, the credits reserved for it are returned automatically.
- We may change prices for future billing periods with at least 30 days’ notice. You can cancel before the change takes effect.
Cancellations and refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
8. Third-party services and your own keys
The Service relies on third-party providers (for example AI model providers, payment, hosting, research search, audio and publishing platforms). When you connect your own accounts or bring your own API keys, your use of those services is also governed by their terms, and charges they make to you are your responsibility. Keys you provide are stored encrypted and used only for your requests.
We are not responsible for third-party platforms’ decisions, such as a retailer rejecting or removing a book.
9. Availability, backups and changes
We work to keep the Service available and your data safe, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Data kept only in your browser can be lost if you clear browser storage or change devices — use the export and cloud-save features to keep your own copies. We may change or discontinue features; if we discontinue a paid feature you rely on, we will give reasonable notice.
10. Ending this agreement
You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing hello@book80.com. We may suspend or end your access for serious or repeated breaches of these Terms, non-payment, or where required by law. After an account ends, we delete or anonymise your data as described in the Privacy Policy; export anything you want to keep first.
11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded, including the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law and equivalent laws in your country.
Subject to that, the Service is provided “as is”, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost sales or royalties, or loss of data you did not back up. Our total liability arising from the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period, or USD 100 if greater.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [to be confirmed]. Please contact hello@book80.com first so we can try to resolve any problem informally. If you are a consumer, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in the courts where you live.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes we will notify you by email or in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms.
